Drawing Masterclass for Sorrel Foundation 2013
A couple of Saturdays ago I visited Nottingham (very early train) with Gemma and Magnus from the Sorrell Foundation to deliver a drawing masterclass to participants of their fantastic programme called The National Art and Design Saturday Club. It was one of those snowy days so we started a little later than usual i suspect. But we were quickly underway and most of the participants who were aged 14-16 stepped up to the challenge and worked really hard to draw the plans an elevations of an archetypal hotel room. They dressed in black so they could take photos of themselves against the backdrop they had just drawn at 1:1 scale. Possibly a little ambitious in the time, 2 hours, but I’d rather that then something that was too easy…..right?
